Here’s a random gratitude post! I wanted to celebrate this good ole vehicle right here. Exactly ten years ago, I bought this KIA Soul (in cash!) and it’s served me well through thick and thin. It was my mode of transportation when I road tripped across the US, when I drove to Hilton Head and back a dozen times, when I moved towns twice, and carried equipment and friends 100,000 miles. It’s survived a rear-ending, a smashed wheel, hail damage, all kinds of weather, and endured my forgetfulness in getting its oil changed. A few friends say the interior smells like crayons, but I have no idea what they’re talking about. Maybe I’m blind to the scent.
I’m not a big car guy, but I’ve grown quite fond of this hunk of metal. Lots of great conversations and trips made in this bad boy. I hope to drive it another 100,000 miles, and have another 100,000 laughs inside.
