This is not a recent photo. But! The scene of this man gliding down the road is increasingly common as fall comes into full swing, and it captures a few ways I’ve been feeling this week. The crisp air at dawn and dusk has been so soothing for me; as someone who tends to run hot, cool weather brings me so much joy. There’s also a measure of nostalgia too. I must have a permanent association between brisk, autumn air and high school marching band, since we spent an egregious amount of October days outside.
While the destination of this man remains a mystery, at least to us, the path he’s on is a colorful one. I like to think he is taking each twist and turn as they come, gliding the whole way with a smile on his face. My hope is to display serenity like that in my own life; as the road introduces new twists and becomes unpredictable, I can still glide, joyful the whole way.
