Happy New Year! I got to spend the eve of 2025 with some high school friends I’ve known for a long time. There’s a reason I drive back home every turn of the year – they know how to have a good time! I swear each of them is a board game connoisseur, and I learn exciting new things every time we’re together. Lots of good memories have been made with this crew! I’m honored to be counted among them because they’re all so freaking smart, too.

What I’m learning about myself is that I love documentary-style photography. Whether they’re candids on the street or capturing events, I get a thrill every time I photograph a moment full of emotion and expression. Like this image here! Feels like you can jump right into the action. It freezes an instant in time that anyone can look back on and find connection with the human experience. And I find that just wonderful.
