I visited another state park this weekend – once for work, and once for pleasure. I got to explore the place from the perspective of a portrait photographer, and I didn’t realize how drastically that would influence how my eyes see the water, the trails, and the historic sites.
Ultimately, it was just fun to explore another beautiful place pretty close to home. I’ve written before on this site about the simultaneous apprehension and thrill of saying yes to adventure, and this was the weekend I said yes a lot. More than just the state park, I traveled to three other places over the course of the weekend. I certainly got plenty of miles on my car! But it was worth it; it took me back to road trips I’ve made where I saw so much in so little time. And nothing fills my heart quite like a good road trip. I better get to planning another one soon!
