new collection: genCon 2024

I’m behind on the publication, but here are photos I took when I visited GenCon in Indianapolis back in August. I went with two friends I’ve known since high school, which made the trip all the cooler. I got to see such a wide range of people, games, cultures, and experiences, all brought together around the love of gaming. There were vendors of all kinds, selling new games and old games, and artwork and outfits and tapestries and dice and all sorts of trinkets that endeared veteran fans and intrigued new players.
There were so many people dressed in incredible outfits and cosplaying amazing characters, so I took this opportunity to practice asking to take their portraits. It’s such a challenge for me normally to photograph strangers in public – it feels like I’m such an imposition to their personal space – but an event like this was the perfect time to stretch that courage. In fact, the enthusiastic “yes” I would get in reply here and there I don’t expect to get anywhere else!
