Here is a throwback to the awesome aurora views that many were able to see back in May. This was a rare evening where, in a spur of spontaneity, I packed up my gear and headed to a nearby park to see if I could capture the views. And while I couldn’t really see anything with the naked eye, I was still blessed by the cool colors of Aurora Borealis through some long exposures (and trial and error!).
I say it was a rare evening not only because of the unique solar event, but that was a day where I pushed myself to go out and experience the moment! A personal growth point of mine is leaning into spontaneous adventure, and while such a thing is understandably not for everyone, I desire more out of my everyday experiences. Oftentimes I deny myself an interesting journey simply because it’s much easier to stay inside.
Anyway, I’m working on being kinder to myself, and sometimes that means jumping up and heading out to treat myself to seeing the world, even if the night sky doesn’t always look like this one.
